Ethiopia-Conga Cooperative Sun-dried Coffee beans
Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Konga Coop Natural
The batch with the best flavor
A small producing area in Gedeo Zone, south of the town of Yegashefi, near well-known cooperatives, Hafursa and Biloya. The Conga Cooperative (Konga Coop) was founded in 1994 and joined the Yega Sheffield Coffee Farmers Union Cooperative (YCFCU) in 2002 as well as a washing treatment station. At present, this cooperative is a micro-producing area with 1556 small farmers, with an average of 1.25 acres of planting land per small farmer, with an average annual rainfall of 1400-1800 mm, an altitude of about 2000 meters, and red brown soil quality, providing good conditions for coffee growth and abundant nutrients. In addition to growing coffee, it also grows bananas, corn and other cash crops. There are a total of 24 cooperatives under YCFCU, with more than 50, 000 farmers. Many small Ethiopian coffee farmers have to trade through the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX), so it is relatively difficult to find good coffee, while YCFCU is an independent cooperative alliance that does not need to go through the government coffee exchange ECX, so the quality is better.
