Process:

Selectively harvest full-ripe coffee fruits by hand. Clean river water (wet process) is used for processing, and the treatment is recycled into the seepage pit before treatment.

Historical background:

Farmers in Kabare plant the I954 of their first coffee tree. There are 11 wet factories in the henhouse, namely Kiringa,Konyu,Karani,Kiang'ombe,Kaboyo,Mukure,Mukengeria,Kimandi,Kathata,Kiangothe and Kiamiciri. The chicken coop is located in the Gichugu Division, Cabare and Kirima on the southern slope of Mount Kenya in the eastern district of Kirinaga.

Management and membership:

The cooperative is managed by an elected board of directors of nine members. Each part represents an electoral district with two seats. Currently, cooperatives have 46 permanent members who are headed by secretarial managers. The company manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the cabin under the supervision of the board of directors.

There are 12300 farmer members in the 11 wet process factory in the chicken house.

Coffee production:

The wet mill currently produces 350000 kilograms of coffee. The chicken house said it was interested in working with it on the coffee quality improvement project carried out by the marketing agent Sustainable Management Service Co., Ltd., which increased the yield by more than 600000 kg and obtained the wet mill certification rainforest alliance.

Coffee processing and marketing:

Farmers selectively pick contestants who are delivered red ripe coffee on the day of wet grinding. Parchment is then fermented, washed and dried. Dry parchment is crushed and bagged Socfinaf coffee mill, and then transported to the SMS company warehouse. Coffee can then be sold either through a central auction in Nairobi or directly to overseas buyers.
