The Helsar de Zarcero processing plant, one of the Costa Rican "Micro Mill Revolution", was built in 2005 by Ricardo P é rez and the Marvin and Felipe Rodriguez brothers to process coffee on three farms. Focusing on quality processing, micro-factories have gradually expanded to farmers throughout the region to process coffee. Today, Helsar processes coffee for about 30 farmers in West Valley.
