About Kotowa Manor: coffee is grown in the Boquete area, at an altitude of 1850 meters, in an area with mist and light rain for about 11 months of the year. Kotowa is a farm that maintains local social and environmental awareness. In order to maintain a clean, safe and sustainable environment, Kotowa coffee is grown and processed in traditional concepts and methods rather than modern machines and technologies. Kotowa also retains about 500 acres of uncultivated forest as a wildlife reserve. The farm happens to be a junction between the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. It benefits from two microclimates, with good rainfall and good soil conditions. The farm tries to grow different varieties of coffee, each with different growth characteristics of Typica, Caturra, Geisha and Catuai, and then changes the methods of nature conservation. Shade trees provide a bird-friendly environment, and birds also give good fertilizer to the soil to improve soil quality. Ecological balance is a necessary condition for planting high quality. Cordova Manor chooses to plant red coffee fruit and treat it with local clear and cool mountain spring water. Under the concept of environmental protection, they use only half a liter of water per pound of coffee, which saves about 10 to 20 litres compared with other treatment plants. However, the treated pulp and waste water are also reused as organic fertilizers. Finally, in the cold and dry climate of 1700 meters, it dries slowly and naturally.

Kotowa History: Alexander Duncan MacIntyre, born in Canada, has several important political jobs in Canada. Eager to make some changes in his busy life, he inadvertently learned in the newspaper in April 1918 that in the remote Central American country of Panama, an area called Boquete, which is located on the slope of a mysterious volcanic mountain, a secret place with a cool climate of the four seasons, his curiosity drove him to the region. He fell in love with the land, and after four generations, Alexander's family has cultivated and traditionally processed the production of coffee, and proudly produces real boutique coffee.
