When it comes to Elida Manor, coffee lovers may be no stranger. Since 2006, Alida's selected batches have been ranked among the best BOP,Best of Panama winning batches every year, and the prices are high year by year. Among the manors in Central America, Arida should be regarded as the most "BlackBerry notes", which is full of praise. What is impressive is Alida's unique "fresh taste". The freshness of the coffee is related to a good "aftertaste", such as a long and pleasant aftertaste after sipping, which belongs to the feeling of delicious taste.
This year, Alida Manor's water washing and sun-drying rose summer coffee, respectively, won the first place in the BOP washing and sun-drying group. This time, the editor brought you these two rosy summer coffee beans from Alida Manor, so that everyone can drink different champion flavor at one time.
Alida Manor
Elida Manor is located in the producing area of Alto Quiel Boquete in the province of Chiriqui in Panama. Almost a century has passed since Robert Lamastus planted the first coffee tree at Elida Manor in 1918, and the estate is now run by Mr. Wilford, the third generation of the Lamastus family.
Elida Manor ranges from 1700 to 2300 meters above sea level, part of which is located within Volcan Baru (VBNP), the Panamanian volcano national park, which is a refuge for rare plants, birds and mammals. The Panamanian Volcano National Park Volcan Baru National Park (VBNP) is one of the highest volcanoes in Central America, covering an area of 14000 hectares and is divided into seven different climatic zones according to altitude. Elida Manor and El Burro Manor are all part of it.
Elida Manor has a total of 65 hectares, of which only 30 hectares grow coffee, including Catuai, Geisha and Typica, and the rest is in the protected ecological reserve of VBNP. Wilford has tried to grow Rosa (not yet produced) at an altitude of more than 2050 meters, and never before has such high-altitude coffee been produced in the area of Boquete.
Over the past few years, Wilford has continuously improved and improved batch management, providing high-quality Elida coffee with three treatments: washing, honey treatment and solarization; roasters from all over the world choose their favorite micro-batch Elida coffee according to the cup flavor and tonality. In 2018, Wilford made more than 450 batches of coffee, and after testing several batches in the cup, we finally chose two Elida rosy summer coffees, a Catuai and a Typica.
The flavor of coffee is produced under the unique climate and geographical location. There are several reasons for the outstanding quality of Elida Manor coffee: Manor is one of the highest coffee farms in Panama. Coffee grows in rich young volcanic soil, the environmental temperature is low, and the planting area is surrounded by clouds and fog, which can avoid direct sun exposure in the dry season. Wild trees in the primeval rainforest bring a large number of beneficial microorganisms, and cold nights lengthen the ripening cycle of coffee trees to four and a half years to six and a half years (2-4 years longer than the average). And the ripening time of coffee fruit is also extended by a month, all of which will affect the flavor of the final coffee.
