Brief introduction:

Salaca Manor is now owned by Maria Elena and is almost exclusively planted with Villalobos species, mixed with a small number of Kaddura species. Villalobos is a branch of Typica, which is characterized by delicate appearance, floral and citrus aromas and subtle acidity of apricots, peaches and plums. Between 1950 and 1960s, Costa Rica planted a large number of Villalobos species in the western valley, and up to now, a large part of the Villalobos species are still planted in the western valley at such a high altitude. The variety was also introduced to Indonesia by Dutch traders in the late 1960s.

The Beneficio Monte Brisas) processing plant is located in the Zarcero district of Alajuela province in Costa Rica and is owned by the Salazar Castro family. They have three farms, located in Llano Bonito, Barranca and Ca ñ uela.

The coffee comes from Finca Salaca Farm in La Nobonito, the largest of the three farms, and the Salazar Castro family is also trying to grow new varieties on Salaka Farm.

Montebrisas is a partnership between the Salazar and Castro families, and Do ñ a Mar í an Elena is currently in charge of the production and technical process. The Salazar Castro region is famous for producing dairy products. The Salazar Castro family used to be a dairy company. Elena decided to invest in coffee. In 2011, the Salazar Castro family began to process coffee and set up the Montebrisas microprocessing plant.

Elena is also a representative of female coffee farmers in Costa Rica, leading the way in growing, handling and selling coffee. Elena's daughter-in-law also helps with the plant's processing, while her son, a school teacher, helps with the plant and farm operations during the harvest season.
