Kenya Coffee Luale (Stone Creek) washing Factory Ruarai

The Luale Water washing Plant (Ruarai Factory) was built in 1951, and the Luale River Ruarai flows through the water washing plant, hence its name. The coffee growers belong to the Ludaka Farmers' Cooperative (Ruthaka Farmer's Cooperative Society), which is 1700-1800 meters above sea level. The beans are SL-28 and SL-34. Ruarai means "stony land" in the local language. the river is full of rocks, and the treatment plant uses river water to wash coffee cherries and ferment.

The Neri region has fertile volcanic soil, the cherries ripen slowly, the coffee fruit is very hard, and the flavor is particularly excellent in all Kenyan coffee producing areas. The Ruthaka Farmers' Cooperative is one of the best producers in Neri, where about 600 small farmers send coffee cherries to the Luale water washing plant, where they are hand-picked to remove immature and overripe cherries, and then start post-processing. The peel is graded according to density, and the excellent beans of grade 1 and 2 are sent to the fermentation tank for 16-24 hours of shade fermentation. after the fermentation is completed, the coffee is washed in the ditch and soaked in the clean water of the Luale River for 16-18 hours. Finally, put it on an elevated shed bed to dry for 21 days, during which there is a nylon mask at noon or at night. The rigorous post-processing process gives this coffee a complex flavor of fruit and caramel.

The average annual rainfall of the washing plant is 1400mm, the temperature is 14-25 degrees Celsius, and the climate is pleasant. There is also a famous Gakindu open-air market nearby, where crops and nearby goods are sold at the market.

Nyeri has always been a high quality coffee producing area in Kenya, this batch of coffee comes from Lusaka Farmers' Cooperative Ruthaka in this area, and is harvested by surrounding small farmers and sent to the Ruarai processing plant managed by the cooperative for post-processing, because the small area planting method of 250plants on half an acre makes it possible for farmers to manage and better harvest whole red fruits and deliver them to the processing plant in time to ensure the quality of raw coffee beans.

After the coffee fruits were graded and screened by the processing plant, the coffee fruits were treated by the traditional Kenyan multiple washing method, and then dried on the scaffolding to avoid pollution.
