Nicaragua La Roca Coffee is located in the highest altitude of the three coffee growing areas in Nicaragua. The highest altitude can be up to 1500 meters. The coffee farm here produces only a small batch of Nicaraguan coffee beans, but our coffee raw bean purchasing experts can easily identify the coffee flavor with distinctive personality and characteristics when testing the cup. The humidity in this area is relatively low, and the low humidity makes the concentration of sugar in coffee cherries more concentrated, which makes coffee have a unique and delicate sweetness and rich flavor. The region is rich in volcanic soil and tropical rain forest cover, which helps Nicaragua to continue to produce stable, consistent and high-quality coffee beans, which are often snapped up as soon as they hit the market. This special batch is the first time to use a pre-drying method, first drying in a completely dark place, and then completing the drying process in some dark places. This slow process helps coffee beans fully show the local flavor, with orange hibiscus aroma and red plum sweet flavor. 、

□ About La roca

La roca is produced by 65 small-scale coffee growers settled in la Cordillera of Dipilto, a Natural Reserve with a beautiful biodiversity of ora and fauna, located very close to the frontier with Honduras. The region is popular for the annual celebration of the Guadalupe Virgin feasts, which they often call the Virgen de la Piedra as she is looking after them in a sacred monument above a big rock in Dipilto. This is where La Roca, got its name from.

Specialty coffee is what makes Dipilto such a well-known area. Conditions such as elevation, soils, and microclimates make this community ideal exceptional coffees. Caravela Nicaragua began to work with the small growers in this area in 2012. It was until end of 2013 when we decided to install a cupping lab in Ocotal in order to be closer to the producers and help them produce better quality coffees.

"La Roca" is a floral coffee with notes of brown sugar, milk chocolate, and silky body, making and amazing combination between sweet and juicy flavors "
