Flavor characteristics of Panamanian Rosa Coffee Bean introduction to the classification of manors in Panama Rosa coffee producing area
What we share today is a special boutique coffee, which is called Geisha. Rosa Coffee is today's popular spicy chicken. As soon as it comes to the Panama Best Competition (BOP,Best of Panama) every year, coffee lovers talk enthusiastically about Panama's Rosa Coffee Manor and even bet on which beans will be the king of that year.
In the early years, the identification of top coffee mostly followed Japan, the king of coffee, the Blue Mountains of Jamaica and Kona, Hawaii, but with the continuous improvement of the standard of coffee-producing countries and the sharing of information, we are exposed to more boutique coffee. Today, Rose Summer is sweeping the coffee world with hurricane power, and the coffee revolution is so menacing that the Blue Mountains of Jamaica and Kona, Hawaii, which have long occupied the throne of the coffee kingdom, have to stay away.
Maybe you don't know the story of Geisha, which was originally an ancient native species from Ethiopia. In 1931, the species of Rosa was found in the Rosa Forest, which is located in Ethiopia and sent to the top coffee research institute in Kenya. In 1936, Rosa coffee was introduced to Uganda and Tanzania. In 1953, as a coffee sample, it was brought to the coffee experimental garden in Costa Rica and was labeled T2722. Finally, in the 1970s, Mr. Francis Coselazin of the Tomba Seven Agricultural Garden in Panama received seeds from CATIE in Costa Rica and was distributed to several small-scale farms for small-scale trials.
Because the yield of Rosa coffee variety is low, but it still stands under severe conditions, it is treated as a windbreak tree by Cajun. In 2004, Emerald Manor sent rose summer coffee to the best competition in Panama, but won the championship and broke the bidding price of raw coffee beans ($130 per pound). As a result, Rosa Coffee is so famous that now the big baristas can see Panama Rosa Coffee beans in the brewing contest. It can be seen that the flavor and quality of Panamanian Rosa coffee is so extraordinary.
Later, the BOP competition was divided into two groups: Rose Summer and non-Rose Summer, so as not to be robbed of the brilliance of other varieties by Rose Summer. Rosa is a member of the Tippika family, but it has become famous more than 70 years after leaving Ethiopia, fulfilling the saying that Ethiopia is a treasure trove of Arabica genes. Giving a variety to go abroad is enough to stir up trouble in the coffee market.
The flavor of Rosa Coffee is so extraordinary that the fruit flavor and floral elements are almost like Yega Xuefei from Africa and Ethiopia on the other side of the world. Of course, these are all old news now. Some small farms also get Rosa Coffee and are eager to grow their own Rose Summer. However, the results are different, and this "star" variety seems to have different tastes in different geographical locations due to the influence of weather, soil and altitude.
Rose is a very rare coffee variety, which has caused a sensation among coffee connoisseurs all over the world in recent years. It is considered to be the brightest, richest and most fragrant coffee variety.
Rose is full of sweetness and cleanliness on the palate, with rich aromas ranging from berry and citrus to mango, papaya and peach. A very obvious lemon (bergamot) general aftertaste is also a typical cup test attribute. So far, Rose Summer has been the champion of coffee varieties.
The flavor of Rosa coffee is so outstanding that Qianjie won't miss it at will. There is a Savage Rose Summer Coffee from Panama on the bean list on the front street.
Front Street Coffee Deborah Manor Savage Series Rose Summer Origin: Panama Vulcan Manor: Deborah Manor owner: Jamison Savage altitude: 2000m--2350m variety: rose seed grade: SHB treatment: anaerobic sun treatment
We all know that the higher the altitude and the worse the environment of Rosa coffee, the more outstanding the final flavor. Deborah Manor is one of the highest and most remote coffee farms in Panama. The night temperature here can drop to 10 degrees Celsius, the surrounding virgin forest is well preserved, there is a wide variety of animals and plants, the annual rainfall is about 2200 mm, and the forest is filled with rain and fog all the year round. Coffee is planted here at an altitude of about 2000 meters, close to the Balu volcano, with fertile volcanic soil.
Extreme elevations and low temperatures, even without the use of any chemical pesticides and herbicides, can greatly reduce the risk of coffee disease, allowing coffee trees to put more energy into the growth of coffee fruits.
This Savage Rose Summer Coffee Bean is a coffee project created and managed by Deborah owner Jamison Savage. Naming the project after yourself shows that Savage attaches great importance to the project. With limited production capacity at Deborah Manor, in order to enable more consumers to taste more high-quality rose summer coffee, the project was born to collect fully mature red cherries from small estates and small farmers in the Bucket and Walken areas. and add the coffee post-processing and processing technology of Deborah Manor's research results for more than a decade.
When the roaster of Qianjie Coffee received the raw beans of Savage Rose Summer Coffee, he saw that the raw beans had a jade-like warm texture, a very beautiful blue-green color, a smell of fresh grass and a rich aroma of flowers and fruits. In order to highlight the flower and fruit aroma and high quality acidity of this coffee bean, the degree of light roasting is adopted.
This Panamanian rose summer coffee beans are lightly roasted, and the solubility of light roasted beans is lower than that of deep roasted beans, so in order to fully extract the rose flavor, higher water temperature is used for brewing, and a finer grinding degree is also selected. Some fans have noticed that Qianjie has always recommended that the powder-to-water ratio is 1:15, while the Jade Manor's rose summer is 1:16, that's because a little bit larger powder-water ratio helps to better experience the layers and flavor of the rose summer.
Filter cup: Hario V60
Water temperature: 93 degrees Celsius
Amount of powder: 15g
Ratio of powder to water: 1:15
Degree of grinding: the pass rate of Chinese standard No. 20 screen is 80%.
After brewing the Savage series of rosy summer coffee in front street, the entrance has obvious white flower aroma, pineapple, lactic acid drink-like sweet and sour taste, full taste, overall clean and balanced.
