Development status of Coffee Industry in Dehong Prefecture

Planting situation

Dehong is one of the earliest areas in China to introduce coffee. It was introduced from Myanmar to Ruili in 1914 and introduced to the farm in the 1960s, but it was not successful. Since the reform and opening up, with the promotion and support of the "18" biological project in Yunnan Province, especially in 1998, the provincial government issued the "opinions of the people's Government of Yunnan Province on accelerating the Development of Coffee Industry" (Yunzhengfa [1998) 116). It was proposed to further strengthen the cultivation of the coffee industry, and the coffee industry in Dehong Prefecture ushered in the spring of development.

Dehong coffee cultivation is mainly driven by the leading enterprise Hougu Company. by the end of 2016, Dehong's coffee planting area accounted for 20% of the national area, which is the only "Ruili Coffee Germplasm Resource Garden of the Ministry of Agriculture" in the country. at the same time, it also has strong coffee engineering, technology research centers and other scientific research institutions. By 2016, the planting of 220000 mu of coffee in Dehong Prefecture has led more than 60, 000 households and nearly 300000 farmers to increase their income and become rich, realizing an agricultural output value of 1 billion yuan and an industrial output value of 1.5 billion yuan, which has formed an industrial system from planting, processing and marketing.

Processing status

The processing of Dehong coffee is mainly carried out by Hougu Company. in 2004, the company began to research and develop a series of coffee products and entered the coffee industry; in 2007, it began to build an instant coffee powder factory, and so far the company has built five primary processing plants with an annual production capacity of 80000 tons of coffee rice; in September 2008, the first 3000 tons of instant coffee powder production line was fully put into production.

The construction of 10000 tons of instant coffee production line began in November 2009 and was completed on May 27th, 2011. after commissioning, it was gradually put into production in September 2011. This production line is located in Padi District of Mangshi Industrial Park, covering an area of 240mu, with a total investment of 463 million yuan, including fixed assets of 300 million yuan and output value of 800 million yuan. The project mainly has three instant coffee production lines, forming an annual production scale of 10000 tons of instant coffee, including 2000 tons of spray-dried instant coffee, 4000 tons of freeze-dried instant coffee and 4000 tons of condensed granulation instant coffee. 300 cans of coffee beverage production line per minute. The company's sophisticated processing technology is mature, the company's main products are coffee beans, instant coffee powder, Hougu series "three-in-one" coffee.

The company's products have passed ISO9001:2008 International quality Management system, GAP Certification (Global good Agricultural practices), 4C (General Management rules of International Coffee Community), UTZ (International quality Coffee), HACCP (Food Safety Management system), Green Food, Organic Food conversion and other certifications.

Current situation of product sales

Great breakthroughs have been made in export and domestic sales since 2010. At home, it is mainly sold to Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and other cities; abroad, it is mainly sold to 23 countries and regions, such as Germany, Britain, Spain, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, the United States and so on.
