Due to the specific soil, climatic conditions and pollution-free cultivation of organic fertilizer, the caffeine content of medium-grain Xinglong coffee beans is higher than that in other parts of Hainan. The strict control of ingredients, time and temperature in the roasting process also makes the quality of Xinglong coffee relatively stable.
On February 7, 1960, Premier Zhou Enlai inspected Xinglong Farm. During the break, the waiter brought coffee to Premier Zhou. "Xinglong Coffee is world-class. I have drunk a lot of foreign coffee, but the coffee we grow is good." Premier Zhou praised after drinking coffee and drank three cups in a row.
Premier Zhou returned to Beijing and asked his secretary to call the Shanghai Food Branch and ask them to send an engineer to Xinglong to "learn from the experience". The senior engineer came to record in detail the experience of stir-frying and brewing Xinglong coffee.
Party and state leaders Zhu de, Liu Shaoqi, Deng Xiaoping, Dong Biwu, Peng Zhen and Ye Jianying also came to prosper one after another, and gradually, Xinglong coffee became an indispensable treat for guests.
In addition to the head of the central government, many foreign experts also praised Xinglong Coffee. A German engineer never forgot after tasting Xinglong coffee during a visit to Xinglong, bought two jin before leaving, and wrote to buy another 10 jin soon after returning to Germany.
