Mocha pot tips:

Mocha pot inventor "Alfonso. Alfonso Bialetti "invented the mocha pot in the 1930s, it is said that he was inspired by his wife's laundry process; the principle is mainly that the mocha pot is heated on the stove, so that the water generates steam to increase the pressure at the bottom, and the water is pushed up through the coffee powder. Finally, it enters the upper compartment, and when the mocha coffee fills the upper compartment, it will make a sound.

Mokhtar Alkhanshali, the hero of mocha coffee far away from Yemen and known as the "legend of contemporary coffee revival," came to Taichung today (23) to share the sweet fruits of mocha coffee he promoted with Yemeni coffee farmers. He also said that he likes Taiwan's modernization and its traditional culture.

Wang Xinjun, CEO of Oukelao Coffee, said that if consumers knew the history and story of Mocha Boutique Coffee, they would feel that "half a pound of coffee beans cost 5000 yuan, and each cup tasted on the spot costs 750 yuan, which is not expensive at all!" During the Okelos Anniversary Celebration period (from now until 11/4), you can also enjoy the "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" promotion.

Wang Xinjun said that as early as more than 500 years ago, Yemen produced coffee in an ancient way, allowing coffee berries to grow naturally on trees without using any artificial fertilizers and pesticides. At the beginning of the seventeenth century, the first batch of Yemeni coffee sold to Europe was exported through the ancient small port of Mocha Port, which amazed Europeans. Since then, the delicious coffee shipped from Mocha Port has been called "Mocha Coffee".

In fact, Mokhtar Alkhanshali, who grew up in San Francisco, is the second generation of Yemeni immigrants. After tasting the wonderful taste of fine coffee in a single producing area in early 2013, he began to travel to the world cafe, but Mokhtar has never seen coffee from his hometown "Yemen". After digging deeper, Mokhtar discovered that Yemen, as an ancient coffee, had suffered a sharp decline in quality over the past century, as farmers found it more profitable to grow the drug crop "Khat" and were reluctant to invest in improving coffee quality.

Mokhtar is determined to return to his hometown, which took three years to travel to more than 30 producing areas in Yemen to educate farmers to work together to improve the quality of green coffee beans. In 2015, Mokhtar was preparing to share the fruits of his and his farmers 'wealth with the world. Unexpectedly, civil war broke out in Yemen, the airport was completely destroyed by bombing, and external transportation was completely cut off. He immediately set out for Mocha Harbor, hired a fisherman, hitched a fishing boat, and crossed the Red Sea with two suitcases of coffee samples to Djibouti, Africa, and returned to the United States.

Mokhtar scored 90+ on SCAA's highest blind test of the year, beating out many of the best-known estates. The story of the thrilling departure from Yemen has also become the focus of international media coverage, and has been referred to as the "contemporary coffee renaissance legend"; in February 2017, his coffee achieved a legendary score of 97 points in the Coffee Review of the year (also the highest score in history), and Mokhtar has since become famous in the global coffee boutique industry.

Mokhtar's footsteps never stop. He continues to communicate with coffee experts and farmers all over the world. This time he comes back to Taiwan to communicate with his peers. He is designated to visit Ou Ke Lao because Ou Ke Lao team is doing the same work as him in coffee producing areas all over the world. He is willing to exchange his knowledge and expertise with Taiwan coffee experts to improve the quality of world fine coffee.
