The owner of Rosa Manor (Gesha Village), Mr. Adam (Adam Overton), came to Ethiopia in 2007 to shoot a coffee documentary. After further exposure to coffee, Mr. Adam was so attracted by it that he decided to stay in Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, and join the coffee business.

In the early days, when looking for a farm site, the Adam couple hoped to be close to the Ethiopian capital, "Addis Ababa," taking into account transportation and labor resources. However, the results of the search are not ideal. As a result of the meeting, Adam and his wife found an isolated forest in Bench-Maji, near the border of Sudan, at an altitude of 1909-2069 meters, and were attracted by the original environment and enthusiastic aborigines, so they decided to start the construction of Rose Summer Manor in October 2011.

Expanding to 2018, the coffee planting area of Rosa Manor is about 320 hectares, accounting for about 68% of the total area of the estate (471 hectares). According to the microclimate and variety, GV Manor is divided into eight planting plots-Shewa-Jibabu, Dimma, Shaya, Bangi, Gaylee, Narsha, Oma, and Surma. In addition to the Gori geisha variety (GG) from the adjacent Gori Gesha pristine coffee forest, there are G31 geisha variety selected from the Gori Gesha forest according to morphology and flavor similar to Panamanian rose summer, and IF variety bred by the Ethiopian research laboratory.

To become the most environmentally friendly in Ethiopia and to promote environmental awareness as the ultimate purpose of the Rosa Manor. In the pursuit of purpose, Adam and his wife also strictly control every step of seed picking and treatment, there is no compromise in quality, and the relationship between employees and customers is sustainable.

The origin of Rose Summer, its seeds come from the Gori Gesha Coffee Forest, about 20 kilometers away from Rosa Village. Through historical research and genetic testing, this is the birthplace of coffee for Panamanian geisha. Chaka (Chaka) is a sub-brand of Rosa Village. In Gori Gesha Forest, they have bred a number of high-quality and stable varieties of geisha in Chaka, which is very similar to Panamanian geisha.

Adam Adam Overton, an American documentary director, was commissioned to make an Ethiopian coffee documentary in 2007. While filming a coffee documentary with his wife, Rachel Samuel, they learned about coffee production, then fell in love with coffee and wanted to buy a coffee farm.

In the global coffee market, under the popularity of martial arts, I have a vague dream that I can buy a farm in Ethiopia and grow the most expensive and delicious Gesha in the world, but I have no experience of growing coffee at all, and I have a simple enthusiasm to learn and find resources. In 2009, the couple met William Willem Boot and asked him for advice on growing geisha coffee. It began planting in 2011 and discussed with William Willem Boot in February 2012 to confirm the decision of the geisha grown on the estate. The first harvest in 2015. At present, three varieties of geisha, Gesha 1931, Gori Gesha and Illubabor Forest, are grown.

By this enthusiastic obsession, with the dream of growing the best geisha coffee, let the coffee industry also redefine the original species of Ethiopian geisha, if you have not yet tasted Ethiopian geisha, the geisha village is definitely a great cup of coffee worth tasting.

Chaka is a limited edition project brand owned by Gesha Village. In 2011, Gesha Villiage started to adjust the varieties with better flavor while taking care of the plants that continue to grow in the nursery stage, carefully transplanting and planting, and following the best agronomic learning habits, reducing the original six varieties to three, namely Gori Gesha Forest, Gesha 1931 and Illubabor Forest, just 20 kilometers away. Chaka is a primitive variety growing in Gori Gesha forest. This quality-based, quality-focused approach allows Gesha Village trees to achieve their inherent quality, maximize their potential, and produce coffee with amazing flavor.
