Introduction to the manor

The Pacamaral Manor is located on an extinct volcano in the Pueblo Nuevo Vi ñ as,SantaRosa area, about 56km from the capital Guatemala City. The estate was bought by the current owner in 2012, when the Pacamaral estate was completely abandoned because of poor management. Now the coffee trees planted here grow under various and natural shelter trees, such as Spanish Toona sinensis, pine, cypress, oak and Inca trees. Although there are many modes of transportation to the manor, especially during the rainy season, a large number of Rain Water caused the river to the necessary area of the manor to soar, so that they could only drive directly through the riverbed.

PACAMARA Manor won the COE award in Guatemala in 2014, and its batch of Pacamara varieties stood out from hundreds of coffees at the 2014 auction of the Guatemalan Coffee Association, winning 12th place. Such brilliant achievements have inspired them to pursue higher-quality coffee plantation. at present, most of the area of the estate is mainly planted with Pacamara varieties, and only a small part is planned to grow Kaduai, so Pacamaral plans to continue to increase the number of coffee trees and shelter trees it has planted in the near future, using new trees to replace old ones to ensure coffee quality. On the other hand, considering the importance of a stable water source for its coffee cultivation, Pacamaral has built several reservoirs to ensure the water supply in the estate. Finally, whether permanent employees or seasonal employees, the manor provides them with accommodation to protect their quality of life, because they are well aware that healthy and happy employees are definitely one of the most important assets of the manor.

C.O.E award record

Ranked 13th in 2014

Eduardo Francisco bought Pacamara Manor in 1984. The Eduardo family has been growing coffee in the Apaneca mountains for more than a century since its grandparents. Eduardo wanted to take a different path from his parents and decided to plant a new species, Pacamara, developed by the Salvadoran agrotechnical unit. He found that the new species was large and beautiful in appearance and could show good flavor and aroma under excellent local conditions.

However, Pacamara beans are so large that they often get stuck in the holes or cracks in the machine during peeling and separation in the processing plant, and the machine must be adjusted to deal with them separately from time to time. The problem of wet treatment was not solved until 1990, when Sociedad Cooperative Ahuasanta signed a contract with Eduardo. After that, Eduardo finally made Pacamara shine with its more skillful planting technology, harvesting coffee fruits with the same maturity and careful post-processing, and continuously achieved excellent results in El COE, ranking 24th in 2003, 7th in 2005 and runner-up in 2008.
