Bourbon variety

Generally speaking, bourbon is a coffee tree that belongs to a branch of Arabica species, generally bearing red fruit, called red bourbon, in addition to yellow bourbon, orange bourbon, yellow bourbon relatively low yield, but better quality. Bourbon coffee comes from Tibica, a natural variant of the coffee variety, and it is also a long-standing coffee variety, and both varieties belong to Arabica! General bourbon coffee is mainly from green fruit to ripe bright red fruit, which is what we have heard of "red bourbon". The fruit is relatively short and round, also known as "round bourbon". The density of pulp and seeds is high, and the sweetness is high and the acidity is bright! But in addition to red bourbon, there are actually yellow bourbon (Yellow Bourbon) and rare orange bourbon (Orange Bourbon) and rare pink bourbon (Pink Bourbon). Red bourbon (Red Bourbon)

Bourbon is bourbon, why is it specially named red bourbon?

In fact, after the original bourbon trees blossom and bear fruit, the fruit color changes from green to yellowish, gradually to slightly orange, and finally to ripe "red" and more ripe "crimson", so it is specially called "red bourbon" in order to distinguish it from other bourbon species (pink bourbon, yellow bourbon, etc.). On the other hand, bourbon suggests that growing at an altitude of more than 1200 meters will obviously outweigh the flavor of bourbon beans grown below 1000 meters.

Bourbon and Tibica are also listed as ancient and excellent varieties, but bourbon is more vigorous and has better resistance to rust leaf disease than Tibica, but its flavor is not inferior to Tibica at all!

The most common thing between bourbon and Tibica is that shade trees must be used to block the sun in order to facilitate growth and flavor development. however, exposure can be planted under the following conditions:

The average annual temperature can be between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius.

Planting scenes to the northeast or east

There are only six hours of sunshine a day.

Yellow Bourbon (Bourbon Amarello)

Yellow bourbon is a unique bourbon variety in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, mainly because the fruit does not turn red after ripening, but appears orange, so it is called "yellow bourbon". If Huang Bobang is planted at high altitude, it will have an excellent flavor performance. It has swept the Brazilian "extraordinary Cup" competition for two consecutive years, and almost all of the top three prizes have been won by Huang Bobang, which is popular in the boutique coffee industry!

Pink bourbon (Pink Bourbon)

After reading the introduction of red bourbon and yellow bourbon, we can speculate that pink bourbon is named because the ripe fruit is pink! Pink bourbon is a very rare variety bred by the mixture of red bourbon and yellow bourbon.

Why is it so rare?

The main reason is that the yellow gene of yellow bourbon and the red gene of red bourbon are recessive genes, which are easy to interfere with each other, making pink bourbon not easy to produce. In addition, pink bourbon is very similar to immature red bourbon and is not easy to be recognized and mixed together, so the yield is scarce.

Diego Bermubez is a young coffee producer from Bolivar, Cauca, Cauca. In 2006, after studying agribusiness management, it began to produce coffee. From the very beginning, he decided to become a boutique coffee manufacturer, applying all the knowledge he had gained in college to coffee production. Since then, he began to participate in some coffee quality-related competitions and achieved good results.

Palaiso Manor has a mild climate and frequent winds from the Pacific Ocean, which help to give their coffee tropical fruit aromas.

These fresh coffee fruits ripen slowly and accumulate high sugar content, which greatly improves the quality of coffee cups. At Finca El Paraiso, coffee is processed mechanically and sustainably in order to maintain consistency in the quality of the coffee produced.

Flavor: the whole is relatively clean and balanced, feeling more light and smooth, with peach, plum, grapefruit, cream, roasted almonds, cocoa flavor, lingering tea and flower aromas.
