The basic taste of coffee is divided into sweet, sour, bitter, salty and fresh.

The following front street coffee will introduce these five basic flavors.

[sweet]

We usually use sweet to describe the taste of sucrose, which is commonly known as sugar, and it is generally accepted that it is sweet and delicious. Although sugar is the purest form of sweetness, many other foods are also naturally sweet. Such as fruit (containing fructose) and dairy products (containing lactose). Sugar is a direct source of calories

So we are born to eat sweet food.

[acid]

We use acid to describe the taste of acid. Lemon juice and vinegar are the two most common acidic foods, both of which are highly acidic (lemon juice contains fruit acid, while vinegar contains acetic acid). Acidity is usually delicious, and if the acidity is too high, it will immediately become difficult to taste.

Some acids make food and drinks taste fresh and refreshing, but some sour tastes show that the food has rotted.

[bitter]

People's acceptance of suffering will vary greatly. Bitter food, if eaten alone, has no other balanced taste and is often difficult to swallow. Most effective compounds have a bitter taste, but the bitterness is different.

[salty]

Salty is the word we use to describe sodium ions. Sodium chloride is a common form of salt. Many foods are transformed to contain sodium, such as seafood and celery.

[fresh]

[fresh] taste is the most difficult to capture. It tastes like glutamic acid. We sometimes describe the delicious taste as fleshy, mellow and satisfying.

-this is the basic knowledge, and here is the practical information.

Most people who have studied coffee have heard that the tip of the tongue is the sweet part, the front half on both sides of the tongue is the salty part, the acid is the sour part on both sides of the tongue, and the bitter is at the back of the tongue. But I have to tell you that this knowledge is not quite right.

I want to tell you that the rest of the smell can be felt on the tip of the tongue, as well as on both sides of the tongue and at the back of the tongue. Because the distribution of taste receivers (taste buds) on our tongue is random and will not be distributed in a fixed area. But because there are more taste buds that receive sweetness at the tip of the tongue, we usually feel more sweet at the tip of the tongue. Similarly, sour, salty and bitter are also due to the distribution of more taste buds that accept the same taste in the distribution area, so the feeling will be more obvious.
