Yunnan coffee

Large-scale commercial cultivation in Yunnan began in 1988, of course, a leading project promoted by the local government, with the help of the United Nations Development Program and the World Bank, and coffee has been slowly formalized in China since then.

There are three main areas of coffee cultivation in China, namely, "Yunnan, Fujian and Hainan Island". Robusta coffee is mainly grown in Fujian and Hainan, while Arabica is grown in Yunnan. Yunnan occupies the leading position of coffee cultivation in China.

The hybrid of Catimor (Katim) Katula and Timor is now the first choice for most growers in Yunnan because of its strong disease resistance and low growth environment.

In the past days, Yunnan coffee has experienced many twists and turns and unknown bitterness before it has been recognized to improve its quality. in recent years, the quality of Yunnan coffee is rising in a straight line, and more and more international hunters have entered Yunnan. Yunnan coffee may be a blessing.

At present, the varieties planted in Yunnan are: iron pickup, bourbon, Katim and so on.

There are a small number of iron pickups and bourbon plants in Baoshan area, and more are Katim.

Most of the plants in Pu'er area are Katim.

Iron pickup (typica)

The most classic high-quality Arabica species, the world-famous Blue Mountain Coffee and Mocha Coffee are almost all Arabica species. Tieka Coffee, native to Ethiopia and southeastern Sudan, is the most widely cultivated variety of coffee in the Western Hemisphere.

Bourbon (bourbon)

The variety, derived from the iron pickup, was planted by the French on the island of Bourbon (now known as Reunion) in 1708. Bourbon also has a beautiful aroma and rich flavor, which is higher in yield and growth than the iron pickup truck, and is suitable for planting in an area of 1200 Murray 2000 meters. Bourbon coffee is a variety of small-grain coffee second only to iron pickup.

Katim (catimor)

Small seed coffee belongs to Katim high generation variety. Katim is not pure Arabica, it is a hybrid of Timor (which belongs to Robusta) and caturra (a variety of Bobang), so catimor has 25% Robusta.
