Coffee from Mutana is a good reason to get up in the morning. At its best, it is full of fresh red berries. It has rich sweetness of taffy and stewed fruit, balanced with the slight acidity of sour beer and lemon protein pie. After drinking, leave a silky feeling in the mouth.

The hills of Mutana seem to be undulating. The mountains are covered with endless green tapestry, with the most breathtaking panorama. The edge of the Kibera forest looms, only a few kilometers away, and fog falls from the forest to the farmers' fields every day. Mixed with silt and sand, Mutana can grow anything people like. Wheat, cassava, potatoes, onions, peas, beans, sweet potatoes, passionfruit and tea are grown with coffee to maintain the livelihood of Mutana's farmers throughout the year.

In the depths of the mountain, there is a waterfall, far beyond the line of sight. To get there, you have to climb down a steep hill covered with eucalyptus trees, cross a river, cross a tea garden, and then follow a narrow dirt road-but we can guarantee that the experience is worth it.

At the top of Mount Mutana lies the great king. It is protected by a forest of old trees and twining vines. To show respect for the kings of the past, and out of fear of graves, no one would go through the graveyard.

This used to be a mountain revered for its invincibility. Many people who flee their homes from other areas will hide in the rolling green fields of Mutana because they know they will be protected here. Sadly, the mountain is not unaffected by the recent war. Many families left, giving up their farms and the place they used to call home.

Challenge: for those who return, life on Mount Mutana is difficult. Most farmers can afford to buy chemical fertilizer. Climate change is a growing problem. The hot sun in East Africa bakes crops, and the delayed rainy season sometimes means people go hungry.

The future: farmers on Mount Mutana want to get enough fertilizer to increase their coffee production. They also plan to replant more coffee seedlings to revitalize their plantations.
