Introduction to Qianjie-Yejia Xuefei aricha G1 washing
Yega Chuefei is synonymous with fruity and floral coffee. Its clean and bright taste and lively acidity are unforgettable. Yejia Xuefei is an excellent producing area with many legends, and it is also a hot coffee item in the boutique coffee market in the past decade.
Yega Xuefei is the highest altitude coffee producing area in Ethiopia, and it is also the local transportation stronghold and coffee distribution center. It has very advanced and developed coffee processing equipment and manpower level, which has created a very high coffee quality.
This Yega Chuefei is from the Aricha processing plant in Ethiopia. It is planted at an altitude of 1850-1880m. It is a native species of Ethiopia and is washed to make the taste more clean and bright.
The Aricha processing plant is located in the Gedeo region of southern Ethiopia, where the jurisdiction is better known as Yegashefi and kochere. The treatment plant, owned by Mr.Surafel Birhanu, is nearby by about 650,750 small coffee farmers who send ripe coffee berries here for processing in exchange for cash. This processing plant produces about 5 containers (18.2 metric tons / 20') of boutique coffee per year and is sold in 10 commercial grades to the global coffee market.
Washed Yega Xuefei G1 Aretha is composed of a large number of small coffee farmers with an average cultivated area of about 1 hectare at an altitude of about 1850-1880 meters. The coffee varieties are mainly a mixture of Typica and local native species.
After the treatment plant selects the graded red cherry color coffee fruit, it is naturally exposed to the sun on the elevated scaffolding after washing. It will be turned every 2-3 hours in the first few days to prevent excessive fermentation. After 4-6 weeks of sun exposure, the humidity reaches 12% or less and will be sent directly to the warehouse of the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) in Awassa. Cup grading and quantity of beans normally washed are stored in the form of shell beans and will not be shelled until they are exported.
This batch of washed Yega Chuefei G1 Aricha is rated by ECX as the highest grade of G1, with excellent appearance, consistency, freshness, dry aroma and flavor of raw beans.
