Front Street-Uganda Coffee Introduction

Africa is home to Arabica and Robusta, two major coffee varieties, while Uganda, located in eastern Africa and known as the "highland water" and "pearl of East Africa", is believed by many to be the birthplace of Robusta.

Uganda's name is rarely mentioned in the coffee market in China. Even if the coffee limit is put aside, the Chinese seem to have no intuitive impression of Uganda, just like Africa where it is located, remote, strange and mysterious.

Uganda is located in the interior of eastern Africa, straddling the equator, bordering Kenya in the east, Tanzania and Rwanda in the south, Congo (Kinshasa) in the west and South Sudan in the north. Uganda is one of the least developed countries in the world. Its economic situation is similar to Bangladesh and Cambodia, which we are familiar with. It is real poor.

It is located in the interior of Africa, with the equator running through it. The altitude in the territory is between 900 and-2000 meters, and the annual temperature is maintained at 15℃-28℃. These unique geographical and climatic conditions make Uganda one of the few countries in the world where Arabica and Robusta can be grown simultaneously.

Uganda, on the other hand, although both kinds of coffee are cultivated, the production of Arabica beans accounts for only about 10%. In addition, Uganda is located inland and inconvenient to transport. Therefore, the Arabica fine products produced in Uganda have insufficient influence in the world. Instead, they occupy a place in the world coffee map due to their large number of Robusta production. There is a saying that Arabica originated in Ethiopia and Robusta originated in Uganda. Ugandans also agree with this statement and are proud of it.

Uganda coffee is not a coffee type that emphasizes rising aroma. As long as the raw beans are not turned white or yellow, they can generally have good flavor performance in the producing area. They have a low ripe fruit aroma, such as the taste of red wine, and a thick body. They are similar to some Kenya beans with low flavor tone, but they will also have a mild soil flavor. Therefore, they are quite different from other producing countries in East Africa in flavor characteristics. Instead, it is somewhat similar to Asian Indonesian Sulawesi Tornaga coffee and Java country manor coffee. Baking degrees between City+ and Full City+ are all better.

Ugandan coffee beans have a unique flavor, very suitable for making Italian and other flavors of coffee, coffee beans between 1600 meters and 1900 meters above sea level, balanced acidity and rich oil are the characteristics of coffee here, more importantly, Ugandan coffee beans are strictly screened according to international market standards to ensure their high quality and pollution-free characteristics.
