Asia has a large area of land and has many different kinds of beans in coffee-growing areas. The most famous include Indonesia, which is famous for its smoky caffeine, herbs and spices, and coffee beans such as Vietnam, which have a distinct fruit flavor and high alcohol thickness. Vietnam mainly produces robusta coffee beans, which are mainly bitter and slightly less fragrant.
In 1696, the then Governor of the Netherlands in Malabar, India, gave a batch of coffee seedlings to the Governor of the Netherlands in batavia in Batavia (present-day Jarkata in Jakarta). This was the first time that coffee was grown in Indonesia. However, the first batch of coffee seedlings were washed away by the flood. In 1699, Batavia accepted the gift again. This time, the coffee seedlings survived successfully and ushered in the first harvest in 1701, which began the coffee trip to Indonesia.
At first, coffee was grown in and around Jakarta, and then gradually expanded to central and eastern Java, as well as Sulawesi, Sumatra and Bali. At the same time, in eastern Indonesia, coffee was also grown in Flores on the island of Flores and Timor on the island of Timor in the Portuguese territory at that time, but the source of the coffee seedlings was different.
Sumatra has three main growing areas: the northern part of Aceh, the slightly southward area around Lake Lake Toba, and the recent rise of islands near Mangkuraja. It may also be traced back to smaller areas of Takengon, Bener Mariah, Lintong, Sidikalang, Dolok Sanggul, and Seribu Dolok, which surrounds Lake Doba in Aceh. In the past, the coffee beans sold in this area were called "Sumatra Mantenin", but in fact there was no place name called Mantenin, which came from the ethnic names of the local islanders.
Manning is usually divided into grades, classified as Grade1 or Grade2. There is no doubt that the grading method is to use the cup to test the quality rather than the raw bean itself. But I still have doubts about recommending Grade1, because the rating seems to be rampant. It is strange to divide different varieties into different batches, so most Sumatran coffee beans are mixed with unknown varieties. Sumatran coffee beans are exported through the port of Medan, but stagnated in the port for too long before export, hot and humid climate factors will not be conducive to the quality of coffee beans.
