Tarazhu is the most famous coffee producing area in central Costa Rica. Starting from 228 coffee farmers in 1960, the Tarazhu Cooperative has grown to include more than 3000 coffee farmers today. Cooperatives have passed the Fair Trade Certification and have been committed to improving the living and educational standards of coffee farmers.

Shepherdess is the preferred batch of Tarazu cooperative. Only coffee from Kaddura and Kadui trees from 1500-1800 meters high altitude is selected. The use of traditional washing treatment, using deep roasting, whether drinking alone or with sugar and milk, is a kind of coffee that is particularly in line with the cold winter mood.
