San Martin Jilotepeque is located in the province of Chimaltenango, Guatemala, close to the eight major coffee producing regions Antigua and Acatenango, and used to be exported as Antigua Coffee. For sustainability, FECCEG promotes and supports the continuity of small-scale producers by providing training in organic coffee, honey and sugar cane production and value chain support services.

FECCEG hopes to increase the income of local small farmers while promoting environmental sustainability and gender equality.

While FECCEG has achieved great success in promoting its mission and achieving its goals, as it continues to evolve, it requires farmers to participate in farmer programs to provide assistance in areas related to organizational development, marketing, traceability, and product handling and safety.

Since 2014, FECCEG has completed 13 tasks involving a variety of products in the coffee and honey value chain. For the rest of the planning cycle, FECCEG will continue to promote achievements and progress in Guatemalan coffee and income opportunities for local farmers.

The area is surrounded by three volcanoes, Volc á n de Agua, Volc á n de Fuego and Volc á n de Acatenango. The mineral-rich volcanic ash mixed with soil makes up for the lack of local rainfall and gives the coffee a special smoky aroma.
