The Matas de Minas Coffee area is located in the southeast of the state of Minas Gerais, just above the border of Espirito Santo, and AltoCapara ó is its best-known municipality.
Matas de Minas's unique terrain, rugged mountain terrain and great differences in altitude (400 to 1100 meters above sea level) make it an ideal place to grow special coffee. Because of its special function, extra care should be taken when growing all crops in the area. Manual coffee harvest can only choose the most mature coffee beans, trees are planted more apart, can accept more sunlight, only treated water can be used to wash and pulp coffee beans, and carefully dry. These factors together promote the production of high-quality coffee, full-bodied coffee has slight differences in aroma and flavor.
Wigle de Oliveira is the third-generation coffee producer in his family. His grandfather began to produce, and the tradition was passed on from father to son. Wigle has been with his parents on the farm and is passionate about growing coffee. He continued their work and has been looking for ways to improve the quality.
The initial lack of equipment and land brought difficulties, but now Wigle has its own processing machinery and cement terrace for drying. He is constantly improving the quality of coffee. At every stage of the process, he dedicates a lot of love and care to a sustainable and efficient way of working.
C ó regoS ã oPedro is located in the city of AltoCapara ó, where coffee is grown in eight of its ten hectares. Wigle and his family do most of the work on the farm to take care of the 35000 coffee trees currently planted.
