Coffee Culture Coffee and the Story of Arapai people

Arabs brought the habit of drinking coffee to the countries they visited, from the Balkans to Spain to North Africa. After the decline of the Roman Empire, the center of world development gradually shifted to the Islamic world. Slowly, the word coffee entered the languages of countries all over the world in different forms.

For more than 1000 years, from the 7th century to the 17th century, coffee was the exclusive drink of Arabese. The Arabs carried coffee drinking habits to the countries they visited, from the Balkans to Spain to North Africa. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the center of world development gradually shifted to the Islamic world.

Slowly, the word coffee entered the languages of the world in different forms, Kaveh in Constantinople, Cafe in France and Coffee in England. In the 16th century coffee shops appeared in Cairo and Istanbul.

In 1555, two Syria opened the first public coffee shop in Istanbul. It soon became popular among all classes. Turkish businessmen soon opened several coffee shops in Istanbul.

Coffee was first introduced to Turkey and Italy in the early 17th century. Coffee shops have become popular social venues in the Middle East for people to chat, listen to music, read books, play chess and smoke cigars. People can listen to enthusiastic coffee lovers tell coffee stories in coffee shops.

Because coffee was introduced to Italy, there was later Italy's most famous Espresso.
