Last Updated: 2024/11/02, The first Coffee Olympics was held at the Hong Kong International Bakery Exhibition at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from December 5 to 7, 2013, hosted by CoffeePro and ColourBrownCoffee, including three events: baking competition, flower-drawing competition and smart cup competition. It is hoped that by absorbing international coffee standards, the exhibition will introduce the diversity of roasting and brewing coffee to the public in the form of competition.

The first "Coffee Olympics" was held at the Hong Kong International Bakery Exhibition at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 5 to 7 December 2013, hosted by CoffeePro and ColourBrownCoffee, including three events: baking competition, flower-drawing competition and smart cup competition. It is hoped that by absorbing international coffee standards, the public will be introduced to the diversity of roasting and brewing coffee in the form of competition, so as to demonstrate the professionalism of Hong Kong's boutique coffee. It also provides a platform for Hong Kong baristas and bakers to exchange skills with each other under the same conditions.

Twelve experienced local and overseas coffee experts served as judges. Overseas judges include New Zealand and EmmaMarkland-Webster;, who has been the presiding judge of the World baristas Competition for many times, the fourth place in the 2011 World pull Flower Competition and the eighth place in the 2013 World baristas Competition, KimJinKyu; from Korea and KornSanguankeaw from Thailand and Thailand in 2013.

The "Coffee Olympic roasting Competition" is the first coffee roasting competition in Hong Kong. through experience and knowledge, athletes select raw beans and adjust their roasting methods to achieve the ideal flavor of coffee beans from individual places of origin. Thirteen contestants from roasters and their own roasting coffee shops finished baking in the first two days of the exhibition, and on the third day, the jury tested the best works in a double-coded blind test.

The "Coffee Olympic Smart Cup Competition" is also the first time held in Hong Kong. Contestants are required to complete three cups of black coffee with smart cups within 10 minutes. Through professional equipment testing, together with the cup test results of the professional jury, so that the coffee can show their production experience. The main theme of this is to respond to and promote Hong Kong's single black coffee culture.
