At present, in addition to Catuai, Typica and Bourbon, the Lamastus family also began to plant Geisha varieties a few years ago. In spite of this, all the batches of Elida Manor participating in the Best of Panama competition used Catuai species, but they were able to achieve good results again and again, which shows the excellent quality and special flavor of coffee brought by its geographical environment and excellent postharvest treatment technology. in addition to creating good coffee cultivation conditions, the Lamastus family of Elida Manor also planted many different native tree species in the manor, not only for shade of coffee trees. It also provides birds with a friendly habitat. In terms of fertilization, the Lamastus family uses artificial fertilization and a small amount of chemical fertilizers, but never uses pesticides and herbicides that are harmful to the environment. In such a high altitude environment, low temperature delays the ripening period of coffee berries, about a month later than the normal ripening period. While the fertile volcanic soil provides sufficient nutrients for coffee, coupled with the excellent microclimate brought by the Baru volcano, Elida Manor can repeatedly obtain cup test competitions. Coffee cultivation ranges from 1670 meters to 1850 meters above sea level, making it one of the two highest coffee farms in Panama (the other estate with such elevations should be Carmen Manor in the Vulcan Valley) the total area of Elida Manor is 65 hectares. More than half of them are located within the Baru Volcano National Park, with 30 hectares of coffee trees planted on the estate and the remaining 35 hectares in the primeval forest Boquet area, which has always been the most high-profile coffee producing area in Panama, with many famous estates-such as Esmeralda, which is famous for its Geisha varieties. Hartmen Manor (Hartman), Mamakata Manor (Mama Cata), Kotwa Manor (Kotowa), St. Teresa Manor (Santa Teresa) of the Best of Panama victorious Army. Alida Manor itself is also a heavyweight star manor in the Pokuit producing area-it has won Best of Panama awards for the past five years in a row, second only to the Emerald Manor Pokuit, which is located on the east side of the Baru volcano and is a valley area flowing by volcanic lava. Opposite to the volcano in the Vulcan Valley (Volcan Valley), another well-known coffee producing area in Panama, Elida Manor is located in the Poquet producing area of the western border province of Panama. The most famous landmark and tourist attraction of the province is the Baru volcano, which is 3300 meters above sea level. Balu volcano is one of the highest volcanoes in Central America, with a total area of about 14000 hectares and can be divided into seven different microclimate zones according to altitude. The volcano is inhabited by many rare plants, birds and mammals, so it is protected by national parks and forbids hunting and man-made development and destruction.
