Famous experts such as American Fine Coffee Association, Hong Kong Coffee Association and Beijing Coffee Association were invited to participate in the first Coffee Raw Bean Competition in May 2013. Mr. Ben Pitts, Secretary General of American Fine Coffee Association (SCAA), served as the chief judge, Ms. Bai Fang, president of Beijing CBC Zunkford International Coffee training Institute, and Mr. Li Jianming, Chairman of the Co-ordinating Committee of Hong Kong Coffee Industry Association, served as judges. Huang Wei, a member of the roaster union of the American Fine Coffee Association (SCAA) and an authoritative coffee roaster in China, was invited to serve as the chief roaster.

In order to ensure that the competition is held in a fair and just environment, the competition specially invited the Zhengyuan notarization Office of Pu'er City to notarize the competition.

After three consecutive days of baking and cup testing, 29 kinds of raw coffee beans from 10 counties of Pu'er and Xishuangbanna took part in the competition. after the professional judges blindly evaluated the taste characteristics of the coffee, such as dry aroma, wet aroma, taste, flavor, aftertaste and mellow thickness, the coffee that won the "Best Fine Coffee" award is:
