Ratio of pressurized water to coffee powder-coffee powder suitable for French presser
Ratio of French Pressed Water and Coffee Powder-Coffee Powder Suitable for French Presses
The ratio of powder to water selected by the coffee roasting workshop is 1:16. If you like SCAA standard friends, you can change it to 1:18. This change will reduce the concentration of coffee. That is, if 500ml of water is poured into the French press, the amount of coffee beans used is 32 g or 28 g.
Second, grinding, we grind coffee beans to very coarse granulated sugar particles, so the degree of grinding is selected because the method of pot soaking extraction time is longer, if the grinding is finer, it is bound to reduce the soaking extraction time, otherwise the solid soluble substances in the coffee powder will be excessive extraction, we call it excessive extraction.
In fact, everyone's taste is different, and there is no absolute ratio of powder and water. The answer is not to impose personal preferences on everyone.
This can also be seen from SCAA's coffee quality control table given above. The red diagonal lines represent different ratios of powder to water, and even the small golden matrix area in the middle has five different red lines running through it.
