Guatemala coffee producing area pico tenango Monte Cristo estate EP washed bourbon cadura C.O.E.
Monte Cristo Manor, located in the Vivette Nanguo region of Guatemala, covers an area of about 59 hectares, of which 13 hectares are natural forests and the rest are used to grow coffee. Benjamin (Mincho) Herberto Villatoro and his wife Zoila A. Gomez began the project to turn the land into a coffee plantation in the early 1980s. Mincho, who thinks he has coffee in his veins, decided to grow high-quality coffee here and make a success of it with its clean and interesting flavor.
Since the 1990s, the efforts of the Mincho couple have paid off. Iily Coffee in Europe began a long-term cooperation with the Chateau de Monte Cristo, but Mincho continued to improve the quality of the coffee, winning the second place in the coffee bidding competition held by Guatemala's official coffee agency ANACAFE in 2009. Since then, high-quality coffee from Monte Cristo Manor has often appeared in ANACAFE and Cup of Excellence (C.O.E.) On the list of boutique coffee.
Mincho died in September 2012, and the estate of Monte Cristo was passed on to his son Jorge Herberto Villatoro Gomez. He inherited the spirit and technology of Mincho, and in the hands of Jorge, Monte Cristo Manor Coffee entered C.O.E in Guatemala in 2014 and 2016. In the list, the future will continue to produce high-quality coffee that represents the flavor of Vivette Nan fruit.
