Farm owner: Price Peterson
Introduction to Esmeralda Special
In 1996, the Peterson family bought a place in the Camelot area (Jaramillo).
A coffee farm in Boquete.
The farm has an appropriate planting height (1450-1700 m)
And coffee is famous for its elegant citrus aroma.
It is a farm with a long history, in which there are all kinds of coffee grown by its owners.
There are quite a lot of kinds.
The Peterson family has increased its planting area by 60 hectares, some of which used to be
To run the dairy industry, or, more accurately, to refurbish the entire farm.
Many relatively new producing areas did not begin to harvest until 2003-2004.
In 2002, son Daniel Peterson suddenly had an idea.
I think that maybe not all the coffee beans in the whole producing area have such a good taste.
But the coffee beans in one of the producing areas have a special taste.
And created this coffee flavor. So he started working for the whole estate
The beans were cup tested and ended up in a small valley at the highest altitude of the manor.
We found this special coffee tree, that is, we sold it at a very high price.
Coffee beans "Esmeralda Special".
Coffee beans from other regions are of course of good quality.
But not as amazing as Esmeralda Special.
Now we know "Esmeralda Special."
This kind of coffee comes from the fact that the climate is cold enough.
Careful harvesting and innovative processing.
We are not sure about the formation of the coffee flavor.
Mainly because of the microclimate of this small valley.
Or is it because of the rare coffee variety (Geisha) grown there?
Or a combination of two reasons.
We will continue to study it. This coffee is not like the usual gourmet coffee.
It needs to be carefully selected to stand out from the crowd.
In fact, most of the coffee beans we export are
Esmeralda Special' rather than beans from other producing areas.
Moreover, these exported beans were not harvested during the peak season.
In view of this, it seems that the quality of Esmeralda Special' has a certain level.
We hope to successfully breed this variety in Bodiekai (Boquete).
So that it can achieve a reasonable output.
