Introduction to the farm:

Finka El Cerro is a family project in which the passion and tradition of coffee cultivation began 70 years ago. Today, we have become the third generation and have continued this tradition for many years.

The farm is called El Cerro because it is located in Apaneca, Avachapan's department after four years of hard work on the hills, coffee is in its slower development, sometimes feeling this process unencouraged, this achievement is a good bonus and reward for hard work and investment in property do. In the participation of the World Cup Program of Excellence, a few years ago it seemed like an impossible dream. Today, thank God, with effort and sacrifice, we can say that there is no impossible dream, this is a good start to reach the top.

In 2005 they bought the land of the village, Chilinos, the upper curve of the heart. Producers began to grow half a hectare of all kinds of coffee in Kaddura. In 2007, I planted the other half of the same variety, and in 2009 I planted more than one hectare, currently producing 200 hectares of coffee.

The site is named CERRO (CERRO meaning Mountain) because it is located in an area where there are many natural forests. Our organization, Cenfrocafe, is part of this history since 2007, as it began to provide training and technical assistance and discovered the great potential of our specialty coffee. The support of the organization enables them to remain at the top of the internal competitions organized by the Cenfrocafe.
