Cloud Manor History
Las Nubes has been run by the Ashevarria family for generations and is now managed by Pedro Echeverria. This beautiful estate, situated on the slopes of the Acatango volcano and facing the city of Antigua, is situated at an altitude of 1585-1890 Michael and enjoys the reputation of a estate in the clouds. The estate has been growing coffee since 1970 and, despite its small size, produces a staggering total of 58 tons of premium Antigua coffee per year. The main varieties grown on the estate are bourbon and kadura, and a very unique mixture of the two varieties is grown in certain areas. Gravilea, the variety of shade trees planted in the estate, provides good protection for coffee trees, while not competing with coffee trees, and keeps the soil soft and rich in nutrients. The combination of sunshine, rainfall and soil here makes the coffee planted in the estate very special. However, it is located at a high altitude, with a large temperature difference between morning and evening. The surrounding geographical environment is a virgin forest nature reserve. You can not only enjoy the natural landscape of active volcanoes in the clouds, but also enjoy rare wild birds in the park.
