Kirura Coffee Factory is part of Komothai FCS and is located in Kiambu County. Fertile soil with red volcanic rocks. The annual rainfall of 900-1100mm saturates the soil and supplies an annual production of approximately 52 metric tons of coffee.

Similar to other treatment plants and estates in the same area, there is also a good ecological environment, abundant shade and wildlife in the area, such as antelope, hyena, porcupine, squirrel, anteater and monkey.

At the factory (also known as the treatment plant), coffee cherries are peeled and fermented for about 24 hours, and the peeled coffee beans are soaked in a washing tank filled with water and thoroughly washed in a waterway.

During the washing process, coffee beans with shells are graded into P1 (heaviest), P2 and floating beans, etc., and are treated separately from the rest of the coffee cherries.

Coffee beans are dried on elevated beds, a process that takes about 3 weeks and provides shade at night and during the hottest periods to dry them evenly.
