Coffee began to be grown in Honduras in 1804, and now there are 280000 hectares of coffee plantations, all of which are small coffee farmers, who account for 60% of Hongguo's coffee production. Honduras overtook Guatemala in coffee production in 2011 and became the second largest exporter of washed Arabica beans in the world in 2012, after Brazil. It now ranks seventh in global production. 92% of coffee farmers in Honduras are small individuals, and their coffee-related workers account for 12.5% of the total population of 8 million, so coffee is a very important crop in Honduras.

The relatively large producing areas of Honduras, spread all over the western and southern producing areas, have six major producing areas such as Copan, Opalaca, Montecillos, Comayagua, Agalta and El Paraico, with an average planting height of 1300 to 1500 meters above sea level. Coffee varieties are 100 per cent Arabica, 69 per cent are HG, 12 per cent are SHG and 19 per cent are CS. The main varieties of coffee are Typica, Bourbon, Caturra, Villa Sarchi and Lempira. Honduran coffee has always been of high quality, and its price is the most competitive in Central American countries. With mild acidity, the palate is full and slightly sweet.

Edwin Ventura Ventura has been growing coffee since 2013, when he entered the coffee world in the picturesque Concepcion del Sur area of Santa Barbara.

On his charming farm, Edwin owns a washing plant and a fermentor. There, he spent 10 to 12 hours dealing with the fresh coffee fruit, and then washed it clean. If the weather is special, he will dry with an African tanning bed for 8 to 10 days.

Because of this fine processing, we have been able to drink the intoxicating coffee of Honduras since the 2017 season. Excellent washing treatment unexpectedly has the taste of grape juice treated by sun / honey and the sweet and sour flavor of ripe cherries.

Brief introduction

In November 2017, the series of small farmers in Honduras arrived! Exclusive direct purchase of micro batches, the first to debut is-La Paz District high-altitude Goz Piers Manor!

Merari. Merary Pacheco inherited from his parents Goz Pines Manor Finca Los Cuzpias.

The manor is located in Tepanguare, La Paz District, 1800 meters above sea level. Merari, the owner of the manor, has planted an excellent kind of card on this towering, steep and fertile land. She has the support of her husband and three children, focuses on quality and keeps learning, aims to produce good quality coffee, and gradually increases the output from more than 20 bags to the current 60 bags. The best batches of Goz Piers often appear after April. As a result, she was unable to sign up for the Excellence Cup competition, but it did not damage her reputation! After we paid an in-depth visit to La Paz and tested many small farmer batches, she has always been the target of our attention and direct purchase, and is also the key object of the 2017-2018 small-scale peasant project.

Five years ago, we introduced the regional small-scale farming project of Hongguo Cafe into Taiwan, and the mainland is still a stranger to Hongguo's boutique. For several years in a row, we have found that the batch of Hongguo small-scale farming project often surpasses some well-known estates in Guatemala and even Panama!

Hongguo small peasant project, the adoption of elite strategy, the annual launch of excellent but very small boutique, we call it [Hongguo small Farmer Project], with an annual output of almost only 10 to less than 100 bags, the quality is very outstanding!

Merari, the owner of the manor. Pacheco is diligent and focused on quality, and the aroma of shade trees and peach trees planted in the manor is another kind of attractive fragrance. The coffee garden is naturally fattened, and the sun-air tanning room after washing is the post-system hardware established after consulting experts.
