Mantiqueira Mountains Yellow bourbon-Brazil
The Minah SGeras side of Mantiqueira Mountains (Serra da Mantiqueira) is located in the Mantiqueira de Minas area. With a century of experience in producing quality coffee, the Mantiqueira de Minas region is currently one of the best in Brazil. Many of the coffee in high-quality coffee cups come from this area, year after year. Mantiqueira de Minas was awarded the protected Geographic indication (PGI) in 2011 for its tradition and world-renowned high-quality coffee. (Brazil) Coffee grown in this area is usually more complex because of its high altitude and fertile soil. There are 7800 registered coffee producers throughout the region, mainly growing coffee on small farms.
Mantiqueira Mountains comprehensive producing area
The Mantiqueira de Minas mixture in this area includes the production of several small farmers associated with Carmo de Minas's Cocarive cooperative. Our partners choose coffee of quality, variety and craftsmanship in Cocarive. In order to choose their area to mix, the farm must meet some criteria. To become members of Cocarive, producers and farms must follow a set of sustainability guidelines to preserve the region's (future).
Cocarive provides warehousing, international promotion, dry grinding and export services to many manufacturers in the Mantiqueira de Minas region. During past harvests, Cocarive has proved to represent some of the best farms in the region. As we believe that the Mantiqueira de Minas region produces the best quality coffee in Brazil, we are more than happy to continue to work with Cocarive!
For roasters who need a solid and stable base of coffee, the Manzedira de Minas mixture has proved to be the solution! These coffees have a more delicate cup shape than our other classic Brazilian blends. The Mantiqueira Mountains combine soft acidity with fresh berry and fruit flavours.
