The Republic of Malawi is located in south-central Africa and is located in the inland plateau belt, surrounded by Zambia, Mozambique and Tanzania. Malawi is one of the most populous countries in Africa.

More than 13 million people live in a land area of only 118,000 square kilometers, and 20% of them are waters. The British introduced coffee to Malawi in the 1800s, while coffee production in Malawi peaked in the 1990s, producing about 70,000 bags of beans a year. Coffee trees in Malawi usually bloom from December to February, and the harvest season is from May to September. Generally speaking, all coffee in Malawi is washed and then dried in an elevated bed, which is exported in the form of a sack of 60kg.

As far as we know, the rose summer variety was planted in Malawi in 1932. The rose bean of this variety is too small and its flavor is very similar to that of many Yegashafi coffees. Traders collected coffee beans from 65 producing areas in Malawi and tested them in cups to determine where the best quality producing areas are. Although there is still room for improvement in the quality of coffee from Malawi, the production of high-quality coffee is still just around the corner.
