The Kainamui Factory is part of the New Ngariama Farmers Co-operative Society and is located in the Kirinyaga area of Kenya. It is home to about 2,000 farmers and produces about 900 tons of fresh coffee fruit annually, at altitudes of about 1,700 - 1,800 meters and with an average annual rainfall of about 1,350 mm. The name Kainamui Factory comes from its location, which has a magnificent landscape covered with virgin forests and overlooks the snow-covered peaks of Kenya. It is also a famous tourist attraction in the area. The plant began operations in the early 1970s.
The treatment plant is very focused on quality and has quite perfect and strict standards. After carefully selecting the ripe coffee fruit provided by the small farmers, the fruit is then peeled and fermented in a tank filled with clean water to remove pectin. Finally, it is washed with clean water and then dried in the sun on an elevated African trellis. Committed to the efficient use and conservation of water resources, and the treatment of coffee shell residue, into fertilizer reuse.
