Chiriki province is now the concentration area of Panamanian boutique coffee, and Boquete and Volcan near the Baru volcano are particularly famous. This is because the territory has four distinct seasons, there are fertile and mineral-rich volcanic soil, the terrain is high, and the annual rainfall can reach 3500mm, which is very suitable for the growth of Arabica coffee trees.

Hartmann Manor is named after the family name. Its founder, Mr. Alois St. Hartmann (Luis Hartmann), is a Slovak. He came to Panama in 1911 at the age of 20, settled in Chirqui province, and began to grow coffee the following year. Hartman Manor, as we know it today, was founded by his eldest son in 1940.

The estate, located in the Caldera area to the right of Mount Baru, not only grows a wide variety of coffee trees, but also has exquisite diversified processing technology. The average annual rainfall is 4500mm and the average temperature is 13 degrees C and 27 degrees C.

Because of its good natural ecology, Hartman Manor has a very variety of creatures, including a variety of rare birds; and they have obtained bird-friendly certification and placed on the manor's Logo, they are the pioneers of environmentally friendly coffee planting in Panama, and their efforts in environmental conservation have been recognized by the scientific community. This place is also a very popular eco-tourism area.

The coffee of the Hartman family has always been the leader of Panamanian boutique coffee. More specifically, from the very beginning of the establishment of the coffee garden, it has insisted on protecting the forest ecology, keeping the dense pristine forest appearance on the principle of non-deforestation, and growing coffee in such a shade. Because the shade-planted coffee grows slowly, the fruit has enough time to conceive, it has high sweetness, bright sour taste and excellent flavor.
