Indian gems come from the Araku Valley valley, located in the eastern mountains of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, overlooking the Bay of Bengal, and coffee production is about 10 per cent of India's. Planned as a forest reserve in 1995, the unique topography, climate, biodiversity and fertile soil make the coffee beans rich in aroma but mild and palatable.

The Ariku Valley began to grow coffee in 1990, but at first, due to lack of experience and farming techniques, the yield was poor, the soil quality was damaged, and farmers had almost no income. In 2011, the Nandi Foundation began to assist local agricultural development. In 2007, the Association of small and marginal Tribal Farmers' Mutual Aid Cooperatives (Small and Marginal Tribal Farmers Mutually Aided Cooperative Society,SAMTFACS) was established to maintain a balance with ecological nature by using organic and biodynamic farming methods (Biodynamic agriculture), such as homemade biological fertilizers, shade planting, and adaptation to natural solar terms, so as to ensure the production of high-quality coffee in a sustainable way.

At present, 35 young local tribes are employed full-time in co-operatives, and many illiterates and women are also offered job opportunities. To date, more than 110,000 producers have been trained in planting techniques and expertise, production has increased from 45kg per acre to 127kg per acre, and 8943 farmers have obtained organic certifications. the income of farmers is guaranteed by reducing the exploitation of middlemen through fair trade norms.

While protecting ecological resources, it can also improve the quality and productivity of coffee, use community development funds to purchase ambulances, provide safe drinking water, maternal health, etc., and gradually improve the lives of the people of the Ariku Valley.

The coffee cup test competition was held in 2009, from the first trial to the final international jury, to establish a coffee quality evaluation and monitoring system, strictly screening according to appearance, aroma, taste and other aspects, and give feedback, and the winners will be encouraged on the bonus.
