2. The name of Zhu Kula

I have heard a lot about the name of Zhu Kula.

It is said that at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, French missionaries brought coffee seedlings when they came to preach in Zhukula, making it the earliest recorded coffee cultivation in Yunnan. It is said that the coffee seedlings brought by the priest can be traced back to the seedlings in the imperial garden of the French emperors (it is not the same clan as the coffee trees in Central and South America, but if it is true, all the coffee is still from Ethiopia), and the variety is the precious Typica species, which is now commonly known as the "old variety" in Yunnan.

Wearing the halo of "the oldest coffee forest in Yunnan", compared with other coffee producing areas in Yunnan, Zhu Kula has a sense of historical weight and mystery. Therefore, one of the goals of the trip to Yunnan is to visit Zhu Kula and visit Yunnan's oldest coffee producing area.

4. Tips for Zhu Kula's visit

Compared with other producing areas in Yunnan, the harvest season in the mountains will be delayed, and the harvest season will begin in mid-January.

There are two ways to enter Zhu Kula, one is through Binchuan County, Dali Prefecture-- Pingchuan Town, Binchuan County-- Pingchuan Town, Binchuan County, Dali Prefecture, and the other is through Yubojiang-Zhukula Village, Tiesuo Township, Chuxiong Prefecture. Locals recommend Binchuan, Dali, to enter the village. By the way, Zhu Kula belongs to Pingchuan Town, Binchuan County, Dali Prefecture.

There is a big temperature difference in the mountains in the morning and evening. Pay attention to the cold and keep warm. It is very warm at noon.

Road conditions are relatively poor, even self-driving off-road vehicles also need very good driving skills, because the road surface is non-hardened, earth-stone structure, and the slope is extremely large, often more than 60 degrees of sand and gravel road, if carrying the motorcycle of the local fellow-townsman, it is also best to prepare psychologically in advance and accumulate enough courage.
