Nerimuvivasi Mutwewathi, Kenya

There are many unknown outstanding washing plants in Kenya, and the Mutwewathi washing plant is one of them, located in Kenya's most famous producing area, Neri, in New Gikura, south of Neri, close to Mukurweini. Mutwiwasi Water washing Plant belongs to the Gigula Farmers' Cooperative (Gikaru Coffee Growers Cooperative Society; C.G.C.S.). The cooperative has 3800 members and the washing plant has 489 members. Farmers grow coffee at a very high altitude, about 1700 meters above sea level.

The washing plant was built in 1965 and used to belong to the large Mukurwe-ini cooperative. In 2000, Mutvivasi decided to leave Mukurwe-ini and invest in Gigula C.G.C.S. Under the banner.

This coffee is handled in a very systematic and careful manner, similar to that of most Kenyans. Once the cherries are delivered to Mutwewathi, use a 4-plate peeler to remove the peel and pulp, then wash, soak and move to an elevated bed for 14 to 21 days, depending on the weather.

The secret behind the unique flavor of Kenyan beans, in addition to the unique bean variety SL28,SL34, the special washing method, there is also a major reason from the local red clay soil. In the case of this Mutwiwasi, in addition to the tropical fruit flavor, it also has a spicy flavor and is as sweet as sugar.
