Panamanian Vulcan Valley Shenqu Manor: a Coffee Renaissance Journey

Fly across the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico to the end of Central America.

Deep into the Vulcan Valley (Vocan Valley) next to the Baru volcano, Panama's highest peak

When the raider buggy climbed down the river valley at the end of the winding and fluctuating mud sidewalk

Arrived at the entrance of Panamanian Coffee Manor-Shenqu Manor (Los Cantaras)-the surrounding scenery is shocking!

A stream that now looks beautiful and clear has a sometimes fierce and deadly side:

"there are vertical cliffs at least ten stories high on both sides of the river!"

It was left by the brook when it was angry in 2009, when it was trying its best to scrape down large tracts of land on both sides--

The terrible flood also made the Shenqu Manor lose its roads and bridges and electricity.

There is also a buffer bank at least 100 meters away from the river!

The flood almost forced the door of the staff dormitory, which once threatened all the buildings of the manor.

Even today, a convenient bridge supported by two pine trees

And hundreds of meters of hanging wires across both sides.

Still talking about the inconvenience caused by the flood and the profound danger of insecurity--

It is a tranquil garden with an altitude of 1500m and 1700m.

During the period of Caturra / Catuai / Geisha and coniferous trees

Although the sparrow has a complete processing plant, it is enough to do everything from berries to sacks.

The local aboriginal staff are actually coffee processing experts who are trusted by the owners and are not born.

In the cup testing room next to the bean drying farm, with Miss Mary, the owner who loves coffee more than herself.

All from the 2009 flood, from the depths of the mountains and forests to the world her determination to never give in!

This kind of achievement is also unforgettable-- every bag of coffee in Shenqu Manor.

You have to cross the bridge that only allows one person to pass at a time, one bag at a time.

Hard as she is, her every step leads to a broad road to revival; that's what she's talking about!

The Shenqu Manor, which began in 1929, is located in the Vocan Valley Valley next to the Baru volcano, Panama's highest peak.

Chiriqui Viejo river flows beside the manor and separates the manor from the land on the other side.

Due to the isolation of the river and the planting forest is surrounded by 20 hectares of primeval forest, it forms a very special microclimate.

This geographical environment enables the Shenqu Manor to produce some high-quality coffee.

Shenqu Manor pays attention to every detail of the production process to ensure the health and nutrition of coffee trees; even wash coffee with natural spring water!

Shenqu Manor is currently managed by the owner, Miss Mary, and has exported coffee and raw beans to the international community for more than 20 years.

At present, the manor has a coffee planting area of 50 hectares, with about 6600 coffee trees per hectare.

The coffee varieties grown are: Arabica Typica, Catuai, Caturra, Bourbon, San Ramon and Geisha.

Flavor: sweet apple, caramel, orange peel, melon, milk chocolate, pleasant sweet and sour feeling.
