□ Panamanian Coffee Manor-Fox de Eleta (also known as Cafe de Eleta) is located in a tiny area of the Santa Clara producing area (Santa Clara), only one kilometer from the Costa Rican border, close to the virgin forest reserve of La Amistad International Park, and is an important ecological habitat in Central America. Ireta Manor began to acquire land in 1970, with an initial area of about 130ha. At first, it began to grow vegetables and animal husbandry. It was not until 1995 that it began to grow coffee, officially named "Cafe de Eleta S.A.", and continues to expand its planting area. Until today, it has 420 hectares of land, abundant water resources and private power generation equipment. It is one of the large coffee estates in Panama. It is also the winner of various coffee competitions in Panama.

The Caf é de Eleta Hotel is located near La Amistad International Park, just 1 kilometer from the border between Panama and Costa Rica. The park is the main rainforest reserve belonging to the Central American Ecological Corridor. Because of its biodiversity and importance to the ecosystem, it has been declared a natural heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Coffee grown on the farm benefits from this special location in the cloud forest, which is rich in alien species and a wide variety of animals and plants.

The first ranch of the cafe de Eleta, with an area of about 130 hectares, was acquired in the early 1970s. For twenty years, pastures have mainly produced vegetables, other crops and livestock. In 1995, the company began to focus on coffee. It was at this time that the company was named Caf é de Eleta SA. Since then, Caf é deEleta has expanded significantly, to nearly 420 hectares. The farm first exported coffee in 1998, and most of its coffee is used in European and American markets.

In view of its unique geographical location, farm owners and staff are very cautious in protecting their natural heritage and strive to protect Caf é deEleta as home to a large number of endangered species.

In order to ensure proper protection of the environment, they have taken the following measures:

Forest guardians ride through pastures to ensure that poachers do not invade and that locals and tourists respect the ecosystem.

The staff of the cafe é deEleta are trained on environmental issues so that they can better understand the measures that must be taken to protect the area.

They are implementing a reforestation program to sow 5000 native species every year.

They use organic or proven harmless products to fertilize the soil and control pestilence.

The quality of Eleta begins with a strict focus on harvesting, picking only the most mature beans. The coffee is then transported to the farm factory a few hours after harvest.

This attention to detail runs through the farm's wet mill, which uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure proper pulping and fermentation. Coffee is transported to floating cans where immature and damaged beans are separated from dense ripe beans. The coffee is then pulped, fermented and fully washed, and then sent to the mill for pre-drying. Soon after, the pergaminio coffee was slowly dried at a constant temperature in the wood-burning Guardiolas of the factory. Only when the optimum humidity of 12% is reached can coffee be stored in a wooden silo or jute bag for 45 to 60 days.

Before being sent to rest, each batch of coffee is made up of Eleta's experienced cups to make sure the coffee is flawless.

Future plans include:

Try new varieties against Rust,OBATA (Catuai hibrid) and Venecia.

Grow new Bourbons and Pacamara coffee.

With the growing demand for natural products, more coffee is processed naturally.

The farm employs 34 people throughout the year and provides employment opportunities for another 400 workers during the harvest, many of them from indigenous communities around Panama (mainly Knobe-Bugle). In 2000, Finca Eleta-focusing on the welfare of these families-established & # 39; LaEscuelitaCaf é de Eleta & # 39; (Caf é Eleta's primary school), a day-care and school program designed to help prevent child labor and help seasonal workers on farms. Starting from one room, the school has grown into a wider range of community services, and in 2014, the Eleta family and the Casa Esperanza Foundation jointly built a three-story teaching building. Children who attend school receive healthy meals and math support for reading and health care support.
