Chicua is a young manor on a volcanic hillside overlooking the magnificent Lake Attilan, a hillside paradise formed by magma from two nearby volcanoes, Atitlan and San Pedro, which have been erupting for centuries. The word "Qigua Chicua" comes from the Mayan Kitcher language, meaning "where there is water", which perfectly describes the heart and soul of the coffee farm.

The coffee trees in Chiqua Manor are planted at an altitude of 1700 to 1800 meters above sea level and grow at quite high altitude. sometimes in the early morning, the leaves are covered with frost, and then the frost is gradually melted by the rising sweet sunlight. As the sun grows stronger, a variety of shade trees that have been growing in the area for a century play a role in protecting coffee trees, which are an important part of the volcanic hillside ecosystem. Sometimes walking in this pleasant green orchard will get a lot of surprises, such as being hit by falling fresh avocados!

Chiqua's new coffee project is managed by third-and fourth-generation coffee growers, and their deep love of coffee can be found in the coffee estates they manage. In continuous cooperation with well-known local Mayan agronomists, the coffee produced by Chiqua Manor is one of the high quality coffee in Guatemala.

In order to fight Roselinia, a root disease strain, Chiqua Manor worked with local Guatemalan Del Valle University and ANACAFE (Guatemalan Coffee Association) to investigate and study ways to fight the disease without affecting the ecological environment.
