Finca El Injerto is now synonymous with excellence, world quality coffee and commitment to good practices and the environment, but how do they do it?
Founded in 1874 by Jes ú sAguirrePanam á, Finca El Injerto is dedicated to growing corn, legumes, tobacco and sugar cane. Coffee began in the late 1900s and was named "El Injerto" after a fruit plant similar to zapote grown in the region.
El Injerto has been established for more than 100 years and has been planted for three generations and has 245 hectares of coffee plantations: 70 per cent of bourbon varieties and 30 per cent of the remaining varieties such as Kaduai, Marago Rippi, Pacamara, Tex, Mocha and Rosa.
The Finca El Injerto Hotel is located in La Libertad, Vivette Nanguo, 339km away. (about 7 hours' drive from Guatemala City). The coffee plantation is located at 2000 meters above sea level and 1500 meters above sea level, surrounded by a major tropical forest, with an average temperature of 18 to 22 degrees Celsius. Its diversity and mountainous terrain make it possible to define areas with different plant varieties, ideal for each type of coffee.
Finca El Injerto is currently worked by the third and fourth generations of the Aguirre family, who are fully focused on the farm business to produce, process and market high-quality local and international coffee.
