Las Tolas Farm, located 1700 meters above sea level in the Andes, is one of the seven biodiversity hotspots on Earth and is run by Arnaud Causse, which has been managed since 2004. Arnaud, who has lived in Ecuador for a decade, has worked on many coffee projects in Central and South America. Arnaud grows coffee outside traditional growing areas. Because of the small cloud cover where the farm is located, the area enjoys more light than most of northern Ecuador, under these conditions, in the shade of wild trees, banana trees and mango trees, the coffee fruit ripens slowly in the best environment, enhancing its roasted aroma.
