In South America, Bolivia is a landlocked country known as the ancient plateau, Bolivian coffee is mainly produced in the plateau 1200 ~ 2000 meters above sea level, the main producing areas are Caranavi Karanawi in the north and Santa Cruz Santa Cruz in the south, both of which are cultivated on small farms. In 2004, through the promotion of the SCAA Coffee Competition, Bolivian summer rose and more and more beans with fresh and special floral flavor opened the market reputation.

In 2006, the oldest "death highway" across the north, a new highway was built to allow Bolivian rosy summer coffee to be exported quickly, and the benefiting province of Caranavi Karanawi occupied almost all the places in the competition.

Pedro entered the coffee industry 30 years ago, giving up his litigation and accounting work to pursue his passion for agriculture. Fifteen years ago, Pedro realized the potential of Bolivian rosy summer specialty coffee. Over the past decade, he has tirelessly built the production and market of specialty coffee in Bolivia, helping hundreds of local farmers recognize and discover the potential of their land and crops.

Pedro has a young, energetic and passionate team, including his son Pedro Pablo and daughter Daniela, who founded a visionary company called Agricafe, which is committed to building long-term relationships with producers based on mutual trust and interests.

Today, Agricafe represents more than 1000 small producers located in Caranavi province and further south of Yungas. Many Caranavi-based producers send their whole cherries to Buena Vista Mill in Agricafe, Caranavi. This carefully run factory handles many of its batches, allowing it to be traced back to individual farmers or colonies.

Pedro also buys parchment coffee from quality-focused producers far from the factory. These producers process the coffee themselves and deliver it to the factory, which is evaluated and approved by Wilfredo Torrez, the quality control manager of Agricafe.

Pedro and his team take a long-term view and actively contribute to the development of the producers they work with by sharing best practices and providing them with the information and support they need to improve quality. They establish a very transparent relationship with growers, directly passing on any additional incentives they ensure if a particular location shines brighter than expected on the cupping table and gets a higher-than-expected price. This relationship gives coffee producers an incentive to continue their investment and commitment to premium coffee and to strengthen their loyalty and trust in Pedro and his family.
