The seven main coffee producing areas of Costa Rica are distributed from northwest to southeast along with the inland central plateau. Costa Rican volcanic terrain with fertile volcanic ash, mild and suitable temperature, and stable and abundant rainfall is one of the reasons why coffee has become one of the main agricultural products in Costa Rica.
Since the coffee industry in Costa Rica began to develop since the middle of the 18th century, it was the first country where coffee was first introduced into Central America and has a long history. Therefore, the coffee organization has a complete system from production to marketing. In terms of quality and quantity, Costa Rican coffee has always been recognized by the world, and has been rated as the world-class high-quality coffee.
The Dota (Coopedota) Cooperative is made up of more than eight hundred coffee farmers in a place called the Saints' District in the Dota Valley. It originated in the "Santa Maria" area of the "Saints' District" and is regarded as the center of the Dota area. Most of the land here is bad for agriculture and animal husbandry because of the alpine terrain (more than 1500m), but the soil is very fertile. The ancestors who came to this area for reclamation found that it had a beautiful environment, not only the valleys surrounded by high mountains, but also irrigated by the Parrita River. the moderate climate was also very healthy, and soon the beauty of Santa Maria in Dota attracted many people to settle here. Even under the impact of modernization, the region still maintains the tradition and farming methods that have lasted for many years.
How to separate ripe coffee fruit from immature coffee fruit is the most difficult thing. Usually harvested ripe coffee fruit will be mixed with immature fruit or other impurities or soil, but Coopedota has a set of strict auditing standards. And the cooperative farmers are required to hand over only the perfect coffee fruit to ensure that the quality of each cup of coffee you cook can be called the classic Costa Rican. Whether raw beans or roasted cooked beans, the coffee produced by Coopedota enterprises has reached the carbon-neutral standard, and it is the first (PAS-2060) carbon-neutral test standard for the global coffee industry. Committed to the sustainable development of the environment, and environmentally friendly coffee is really necessary and necessary. In order to protect our earth, only by maintaining the sustainable development of the environment can we continue to enjoy high-quality coffee farming. The market demand for products with low carbon emissions will increase with the increase of consumers' awareness of environmental protection.
