In Colombia, three Cordillera mountains run north-south and extend to the Andes. Local coffee farmers grow coffee along the highlands of these mountains, which have diversified climatic conditions; also because of the change of altitude, the coffee industry in Colombia is largely smallholder production mode.

However, unlike Central American coffee producing countries, which are classified according to the altitude of growth, Colombia coffee is classified according to the size of bean mesh, especially Supremo grade above 17 mesh, and EXCELSO EXTRA, which is mainly 16 mesh.

In the Vera region of Colombia, the two Andean Cordillera mountain systems that begin with the Rio Magdalena River have warm, hot air masses that swim from the Caribbean Sea, creating a special climate conducive to coffee growth. In this remote and rugged terrain, farmers plowed a small steep slope with great difficulty and courage.

Vera is located in southwest Colombia, between the eastern and western peaks of the Andes. The flavor of coffee beans is mainly influenced by the Rio Magdalena River, the main river in Colombia, and two Andes mountains, which are full of volcanoes and provide fertile volcanic soil, forming a warm tropical air mass blowing from the Caribbean Sea, thus providing favorable conditions for coffee cultivation and a unique microclimate. Altitude and geographical changes have resulted in a wide variety of climates throughout the mountain range, with warm and wet valleys and cold and snowy volcanic peaks.

The large geographical span of Colombia allows a number of microclimates suitable for coffee cultivation to run through several growing areas and help shape coffee's unique flavor.
